“TO WIN CUSTOMERS — and a bigger share of the marketplace — companies must first win the hearts and minds of their employees”.

Gallup recently released an update of their study regarding Employee Engagement in the American Workforce. This report provides helpful insights into what business leaders can do to improve employee engagement and performance in their organizations.

Employee Engagement is much more than a catch phrase or buzzword. Engagement can be defined as “Unlocking a person’s potential to drive for high performance, resulting in the capture of discretionary effort”. Gallup’s study documents the fact that organizations with higher percentages of engaged workforce have significantly higher productivity, profitability, and customer ratings, less turnover and absenteeism, and fewer safety incidents.

Gallup recommends organizations boost engagement levels with strategies to hire the right employees, develop their strengths, and enhance their wellbeing.
