It used to be a joke but it has become largely true. With unemployment at an all-time low and with the shortage of candidates for entry or lower level jobs, employers’ standards for accepting new hires has sunk to the two mirror test: “If the candidate has a reflection and if they can fog it … hire him.”

This could be a recipe for disaster – quality down, production down, costs going up! But there are some things that employers can do to attract and retain the talent and the bodies they need.
